Szőke

(Baranya County)

The Village of Szőke, similarly to other villages, didn’t use a coat-of-arms, only a charged seal. The original seal is very old, it was probably made in the second half of the 1770sw. On a village seal found on a document dated 1801 a ploughshare, a coulter and two ears of wheat is found.

The charge is based on the one-time seal of the village bearing the symbols of the main profession, agriculture.

Rounded base shield azure, the chief bears the motif of the original seal charge with two strings of pearls argent. In the charge a coulter couped, above a ploughshare bladed the same but pointed the opposite direction. Issuant from the ploughshare three stylised ears of wheat. Between the two strings of pearls argent the name of the village in majuscules or.
