Hernádkak

(The county of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén)

It is a standing, triangle-shaped, blue shield which is divided by a golden waweband in 2 parts. Above the waweband, there is a silver star on the right side (in the view of heraldry), and there is a silver moonface on the left side. Under the waweband there is a silver bastion. On the shield you can see a three-foliaged golden crown that is made of ploughshares. Below the shield there is a ribbon with the name of the village: HERNÁDKAK.

The waweband refers to the river of Hernád that plays a very important role in the life of community. The star, moonface and ploughshare-crown recall the ancient symbol of the village: what was found on a seal from the 18th century. The silver bastion refers Belegrád- means "white castle". It is a small settlement but it had an important part in the development of present village: HERNÁDKAK.
