(Győr-Moson-Sopron County)

The village of Hegykő is situated in the county of Győr-Moson-Sopron, at the shore of the Lake Fertő. The frist written recollection - named IGKU - dates back to the year 1262. In the 18. century it was raised to the rank of market-town (OPPIDUM HEGIKU). The village is part of the World Heritage Fertő-landscape.

The arms of the self-government is a shield with snout sole, in the red field of which there stands a silver castle. Heraldically at the right side of the castle there is a silver-colored moon face, at the left side a eight-pointed star.

In the middle part of the castle there are two vertical loop-holes with black covering, further down a horizontal loop-hole, while at the lower part there opens a trellised gate. Atop the castle there is a pinnacled tower with a dome, while on both brinks there stands a smaller pinnacled turret with a gabled cap.
