Adorjánháza

(Veszprém County)

Shield erect and azure. It bears an armed lion rampant and regardant,with its red tongue and claws put out, as if preparing for seizing its prey. Its tail is bifourchée. Above the lion’s head a verdured crown or is borne encouped.

In general the lion is the symbol of bravery and faithfulness, but if it is borne as if looking back, it is a symbol of the glorious nobiliary past, of the ancestors and also of their brave deeds. The crown above the lion’s head is an emblem of the brightness and the glory of the past, which is shining through the everyday life of today’s inhabitants as well.
